One of the most stunning architectural wonders of the world is found here in Granada, the heart of Andalusian Spain. Begin in the 10th century and completed four centuries later, the Alhambra was the palace of the Muslim Emir and is the epitome of Moorish design. The details are too many to include here but I can say that not one inch of this complex is wasted in terms of decor, some of which looks like it was designed by computer. Anyone interested in archirtecture, landscape design or just plain beauty owes to themselves to come here. Visiting is by reservation but I had no problem getting one. An added plus is that Granada itself is a lively, bustling city worth visiting in its own right.
