Description: Magnificent view of the Piazza San Pietro from top of Saint Peter's cupola. We can see in this photo the enormous ellipse of the plaza flanked by the colonnades laid out by Bernini, that appear to embrace the whole world. Various well known points of Rome can be seen in this picture. The experience of climbing the stairs to the top of the dome is excruciating but the 360-degree view of the Vatican gardens and the City of Rome is worth while the efforts and the entrance charge.
