These photos were taken in Fall 2008 in the area of Hunter Mountain, NY located in the Northern Catskill Mountains, within the Catskill Forest Preserve.  We are 15 minutes west of Catskill, NY, 2 hours north of NYC 1 hour south of Albany, and our "peak" leaf season occurs 1-2 weeks before the surrounding area due to our 2000' elevation.  Hunter Mountain ski area sponsors a free October Fest on 2 weekends in October to provide "leak peekers" another celebration of Fall during our peek viewing season.  Views into the Hudson Valley to the east and to the Berkshire Valley to the north are stunning. And the area attracts a substantial number of visitors during our Fall Leaf season as we prepare for the ski season to come. We are looking forward to another spectacular season this year!  RCJ
