It is amazing that all of this plant life can grow on the highest active volcano in Costa Rica at 11,260 feet. My Tico friends tell me that the crater lake used to be the color of olive oil, but now it is the chalky green you see in the photo. This photo was also taken when the clouds were courteous enough to move out of the way.
