  • Fun shot of the good old days at the Oktoberfest. There's a great story to the decorative angel hovering above the scene. His Name Aloisius, and he's a character from a short story by author Ludwig Thoma. In the story, Aloisius is a grouchy Bavarian who doesn't quite fit into the heavenly scene. he's not content to play his harp and sing hosannas. Instead, he asks for snuff and generally makes a pain of himself until St. Peter and God decide to send him back to Earth with a heavenly message for the Bavarian parliament. On his way to deliver the message, Aloisius gets sidetracked with a visit to the Hofbrau Haus. He never quite makes it to the parliament, which, according to the story, is why the Bavarian parliament remains such a muddle to this day.
