I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked into my modest Athens hotel, opened the curtains and saw the Acropolis looking close enough to touch! Since my internal clock was off after traveling from the U.S., I was wide awake as dawn crept across the Acropolis, bathing the Parthenon in gentle light. I took this from my hotel balcony.
