  • Owego is a beautiful, small town and I am proud to have lived in it throughout my life. From its river scenes, and its tens of shops on Lake Street, Owego is a gorgeous town.

  • I beg to differ with previous commenter. The town has great restaurants, including fine restaurants as the Cellar Restaurant, and unique ones like the Jail House Restaurant and many others. The town also has over 30 different and unique shops in a concentrated area. It's worth the trip and the village is in a State Historic District with many of the village homes on the state registers.

  • Sorry - a couple of festivals does not make this a cool town. There are no fine restaurants and very few stores in this town...

The third Friday-Saturday in June, Owego, NY bursts with the sweetness of the annual Strawberry Festival.  About 20,000 people pack the town.  You can expect great food and a fantastic array of arts and crafts.  Over 120 vendors and artisans line the streets.  Their selection of fine restaurants and unique shops are filled with distinctive merchandise and is sometimes referred to as “the best kept secret in the Southern Tier of New York!”
