Who are these people and why are they in my yurt?

As part of a tour of Ulan Bator, our small group was taken up into the mountains.  As we were driving along, our guide pointed out a series of yurts, which serves as the homes for the nomadic people.  When we started asking questions about the living conditions, the guide asked us if we would like to see one for ourselves.  We assumed the guide had some kind of arrangement with a family in the area, so we said that would be great.  Turns out there was no such arrangement, a fact which did little to deter our guide from dropping in on a family unannounced with 6 gaping tourists in tow.  The family was very gracious and welcome us into their yurt, served us some fermented mare's milk and even allowed us to ride their horses.  This is a photo of the matriarch of the family, who although quiet throughout our visit, seemed to be amused by our curiousity.
