    • From: rdcobb1
    • Description:

The Hadza people(Bushmen) are an ethnic group in central Tanzania, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and they are the last functioning hunter-gatherers in Africa.  Their shelters(pictured here) can be built in a few hours, and most of the possessions owned by an individual can be carried on their backs.  They are excellent shots with the bow and arrow and live on roots, small game, honey, berries, etc. A morning spent with them is like a step back in time.

  • Up Close, Too Close Up Close, Too Close

    • From: rdcobb1
    • Description:

Nothing remarkable in this picture EXCEPT that white spot on the bottom of the picture.  That is our land rover.  This very large female was feeding near us for quite some time and paid no attention to us whatsoever.  Suddenly she decided to exit stage right and brushed past the rear of our vehicle.  I could have reached out and touched her.  She never once looked at us or gave any indication that she saw us as a threat.  We had no chance to move!!!  Our hearts did race for awhile but no damage done.
