Everyone in Japan has their own favorite ramen place.  Mine is called Rich Hokkaido Broth.  Ok, it's not it's real name of the restaurant, but since my kanji reading is not quite up to par, that's what I choose to call it.  It features it's ramen in rich hokkaido broth.  I'm not sure if that's actually true, but it sure taste delicious.

At one of the parks in Gyeongju, Korea there were vendors renting small electric cars and motobikes to children.  This particular one is a remote control car.  The little girl driving isn't actually driving, and her parents have the remote.  Just thought it was neat.

Warabi mochi.  It's a cool summer dessert made from a jelly like substance.  Cold cool center covered in, sometimes, toasted soy powder or green tea powder.  It's just slightly sweet and goes down smoothly in your throat.  Ahhh.. things I will always love about Japan.

For my birthday, I invited a few of my Japanese co-workers over to the house for drinks and cocktail.  I requested no gifts, so they all brought me flowers instead.  This one was particularly my favorite.  The flowers were inside of a balloon.  They ARE creative.  The flowers, unbelievably, survived longer than the ones that were just sitting in the vase.  However, the balloon did get cloudy after a few days.

Pusan is a bustling port at the southern tip of Korea.  There's a ferry (about 3-4 hours) from Fukuoka, Japan straight to Pusan, where Japanese tourists can enjoy tax free shopping and cheaper prices.  It's about a 2-3 hour ride on the KTX from Seoul.

The Cherry Blossom Festival is probably one of Japan's most treasured festivals.  There are lots and lots and lots of people and even more food vendors.  Most families pack picnic bento boxes and set up a blanket underneath the cherry blossoms.  Children run around with their ice cream cones, dogs dressed in pink outfits, etc.

Went to Hiroshima for lunch today, and I decided to take a stroll around the castle park since it was such a beautiful day.  Lots of families were picnicking outside with their bento boxes and sake.  Too bad I forgot my camera, so these were taken with my iPhone.  Not too bad for a phone that also uploads the pictures instantly.
