On my Carribean Cruise we ported in St. Thomas and took a ferry to St. John. Very beautiful Island!!! We took a cab to Trunk Bay and had a blast snorkling, swimming and sunbathing. I really want to go back and stay there for more than a day trip. On our way back to the ferry I asked the driver to stop so I could take some pictures and I took plenty!!

I totally love to travel!! I wish I could do it more often. I don't mind at all traveling alone. When Eat, Pray, Love came out my friends and family said that was so me!! I went to Belize a few years back...alone. It was great!! I met some couples that let me hang out with them and one of the ladies even went with me on a zip-line day trip!! She had so much fun!! I went on a Carribean Cruise last year with my daughter and her friend. My first cruise....fell in love with the cruise idea. The ports were awesome and I do want to go back and spend more time..my favorite was St. John. So beautiful! I moved for two months to Las Vegas to look for work, had no luck. I did alot of roadtrips to Grand Canyon, Ghost Towns and so many other places. As far as Hawaii, my favorite island is Kauai. I've been there four times and each time discovered new waterfalls and places to see. I went there with now a ex, but we had so much fun there. We camped on the beach for a week! One time found a local hotel for $35.00 a night. Wasn't fancy, of coarse but a place to sleep. We would go to the store for yummy fish and go to a park to barbecue. So many ways to save but still have a wonderful time!! Went to Florida and drove the Keys. So pretty!! Would like to go back sometime. Ended at Key West for their Pirates In Paridise Festival and started our journey back up. Then there's Mexico...Cabo San Lucas. My favorite area there and been there three times is La Paz. I tell everyone that they have to visit there and then head to Todas Santos. We even considered living there one time. Here in Washington there is so many beautiful places to see. We have Mt. Rainier, The Ocean, The Desserts, The rainforrest, beautiful hikes and drives. I do alot of roadtrips here. In all my travels and adventures I take wonderful pictures! I'll pull over whenever I want and snap that perfect shot. My friends on Facebook thank me for sharing my trips with them. I'm 53years old and plan to do alot more traveling...solo or with that special someone. Like I said at the beginning...I totally love to travel!!!!

As we settled in for the weekend and we decided to find a grocery store to stock up on goodies. You will want to shop and eat earlier in the day when on any island as places tend to have altered hours and a lot of stores close between 6-7 p.m. On days when cruise ships don't dock in Curacao some street vendors and stores are not open. We went about 4 miles from our hotel to the main grocery store in Piscadera "Centrum Supermarket" where we stock piled our shopping cart with international and local specialty treats. Ira recommends the lemon seafood salad from their deli. I loved their Cuban bread. Your receipt is both in US dollars and one in Guilders and everyone accepts visa and MasterCard. You can either pay for a reusable bag or have a box and if you need to take the shopping cart to your car a grocery bagger will accompany. It is good to tip everyone as they rely on tourism.

The next morning we had a day pass to visit Breezes Resort in Punda the other side of town. We had a bit of a challenge finding it and thanks to a local security man downtown we were finally pointed in the right direction unfortunately then the sun went away and the pouring rain came out. Which brings me to our next savings we received a $100 gift certificate from Cheap Caribbean good for future travel bookings if it rained during our trip- they call this their Sun protection plan part of your vouchers when you book travel with them. We had a gracious welcome by the Breezes staff and decided to see if scuba was still available even with the rain. Ira was pleased to learn unlike some other destinations the visibility is not fully affected by a rain storm passing through. As he geared up with his class of scuba buddies whom spoke broken English and lots of Dutch and German he prepared to have an awesome adventure. I stayed back at the resort pools and quickly went to the gazebo covering part of one of the beautiful pools. I sampled their island drinks- of course all inclusive as is the rest of the resort. I waited patiently with my latest James Patterson novel until the beautiful sun returned shortly an hour later to warm and dry up the raindrops. Not too long after the sun reappeared did I begin to feel the effects of her strength on my skin and double layered the sun protection. I listened to the sounds of the water lapping in the distance and closed my eyes for some well deserved nap time.

When my husband returned we went to the bar grill and enjoyed a chicken sandwich under the straw thatched pick nick table. We were delighted to find a sand crab and videotaped him popping up to greet us and hiding just as quickly. They are truly amazing creatures, do you know that he came back up out of the hole and actually sat there looking up at me and the camera as I talked to him with a soft voice. We checked out the gift store and the lobby as we went back to our rental car before long it was six o'clock and so we returned to our Hilton a day well spent.
