How to plan a Tibet trekking t How to plan a Tibet trekking tour
- From: tibettravel
-
Description:
With the modernization of major cities of Tibet, travelers to Tibet cannot find original Tibetan taste. Many Tibetan people in cities live a modern life, wearing fashion clothes, using latest new mobiles. What you see is just out of your expectation. But making a Tibet trek to remote areas of Tibet, you will find the traditional Tibetan style. But you may ask how to plan a Tibet trekking tour? Just follow Tibettravel org, you will get a perfect answer.
Where to Go
The inaccessibility of many areas of Tibet offers lots of chance for travelers to do a trek in Tibet. Trekking from one holy site to another one or just around a sacred mount or lake in Tibet is the most popular trekking way in Tibet, for instance, trekking from Ganden Monastery to Samye Monastery or from Tsurphu Monastery to Yangpachen Monastery, or trekking around holy Mt. Kailash.
Generally, Tibet trekking can be classified into Tibet pilgrimage trek, Tibet culture trekking and sightseeing trek, but most Tibet treks combine the three types together. During trekking in Tibet, you can visit sacred monasteries and other holy sites, view fabulous landscape of Tibet, drop a visit to a traditional Tibetan village, etc.
When to go
Tibet trekking is not feasible from December to March as the temperature goes very low and also the days become much shorter. During the snowfall not only the mountains are inaccessible but the highways that take you to the trail heads are blocked. Generally from April to October, the best time to travel to Tibet, is also great time to trekking in Tibet. Rain is not a problem for trekking in Tibet as it receives only little rain being in a rain shadow zone behind the Himalayas. Rather rainy season is the best time for trek, as the weather is mild and the ground in mountain valleys turn green and alpine flowers bloom in profusion.
Tibet Permits
Depending on the area you hope to visit in Tibet, you may need as many as four different permits. Of course, Chinese visa is the first permit you should apply for. Then, Tibet Entry Permit issued by Tibet Tourism Bureau is a must for foreign travelers to travel to Tibet. Besides, Alien’s travel permit is required if you visit places outside Lhasa and military permit is needed for visiting militarily restricted areas of Tibet. These Tibet permits cannot cost you too much and are easy to get thanks for the new policy on Tibet travel permit 2013.
Equipment for Tibet trekking
A trekking tour in Tibet is usually made at areas far away from main road and lack of tourist infrastructure, so you at least need a tent, a sleeping bag, and a stove to stay warm and well fed. All of these things can be purchased or rented in Lhasa, though quality may vary. White gas for western liquid fuel stoves is not available in Lhasa, though pressurized fuel canisters for canister stoves are found everywhere. Owners of multi-fuel stoves capable of burning regular unleaded will find gas stations in Lhasa. Ration 4-6 ounces of liquid fuel per person, per trekking day.
Besides, warm clothing and a good pair of shoes are essential for a Tibet tour, and can be purchased in Lhasa, but the price is usually a little high at the tourist city. It is best to buy clothes and shoes in your hometown or big cities of mainland China. Waterproof, high-top hiking boots are better suited than ventilated low-top trekking shoes to the snow covered high mountain passes common on Tibetan trekking routes. Gaiters, knee high canvas leggings that attach to your boots, are extremely useful if snow gets above the ankle level.
Food for trekking in Tibet
Usually, there are no restaurants or shops on the trekking route. So you need to prepare food by yourself or hire a cook to prepare food for you. It is a good idea to bring enough food for your entire trekking tour. Though western style dehydrated "backpacker meals" are not available in Tibet, a wide variety of non-perishable foods at the local supermarkets makes it easy to eat well on your trek. Hot chocolate, dehydrated fruits, candy bars, and instant noodles make good staples. If your Tibet tour is long, it is best to hire a cook to cook food for you.
Drinking-water for Tibet trek
Drinking large amounts of water is the most important key to beating the altitude. Tibet's backcountry is full of grazing yak, sheep, and goats so stream water must be treated before drinking. Lodine, chlorine, and mechanical filters are all good treatment options. Western filters cost a fortune in Lhasa, iodine isn't available anywhere in China or Tibet, and Chlorine tablets were in stock in limited quantities in Lhasa. Boiling water is effective, but Tibet's high altitude puts the boiling point lower. Bring water to a rolling boil for at least a minute before drinking.
Water from locals is a good way to fill water bottles when passing through small villages. Though they may not have much if anything to offer in the way of food, every family keeps a large thermos of boiled water on hand. Just be sure you know what you're getting before pouring, or you may end up with a water bottle full of yak butter tea.
Altitude Sickness
Altitude and the related effects of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) should be taken seriously if you travel to Tibet. If ignored, AMS can progress into High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE) or High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), both of which can be fatal. Before starting your trekking tour in Tibet, you should give yourself a few days to acclimatize. During trekking, move slowly and try not to sleep at the day's highest elevation. Most importantly descend to lower elevation immediately if any of your companions seem to act drunk, complain of a headache that is not relieved by ibuprofen, or become nauseous and vomit.
Hiring a Pack Animal
It is very hard to walk at high altitude with a heavy backpack. It is wise to hire a pack animal, usually a yak. Yaks can be rented in villages of almost any size, and can make a trek more enjoyable by taking weight off of your back. Yaks come with yak men to herd, handle, and feed them and some yak men can speak a little English.

For westerners, coffee, juice and wine made from grape are the common drinks; for Chinese, green/black tea and wine made from wheat, rice, corn, broomcorn and soybean are the common drink; but Tibetans enjoy their distinctive Tibetan drinks, such as butter tea, yak milk and barley wine. If you travel to Tibet, just have of taste of the different Tibetan drinks.
Butter Tea
Buttered tea is the daily drink for Tibetan people just like coffee for westerners. It is said that the relationship between Tibetan tea and Tibetan people are like that between fish and water.
In fact, there are different kinds of Tibetan tea, butter tea, sweet tea and pure tea. But butter tea is the most popular tea in Tibet. Butter tea is a beverage in Tibet with abundant nourishment. At the fastigium of the world, no matter you are sharp-set or foredone, as soon as you drink a cup of the Tibetan butter tea, you will get back power all over and become energetic in the turn of a hand. In winter, after you dinked the butter tea, you will feel warm from heat to foot.
Some people even said, the Tibetan butter tea can cure the ill body. Though it is exaggerate, it embodies the wonderful function of the tea. If you make a Lhasa tour, you can find many tea houses offering butter tea along the streets of Lhasa. A cup of butter tea only costs 0.6 Yuan. It is very cheap.
Yak Milk
If you travel to Tibet, you will find long-haired bovine throughout Tibet. There are both wild and domesticated yaks in Tibet. Of course, the yak milk is from the domesticated yaks.
Domesticated yaks have been kept for thousands of years, primarily for their milk, fibre and meat, and as beasts of burden. Their dried dropping is important fuel, used all over Tibet, and is often the only fuel available on the high treeless Tibetan Plateau. As one of the most important products in Tibet, milk products are famous for fresh. The most popular milk products are yogurt and milk sediments. The best time to enjoy Tibetan yogurt is to make a Tibet tour during annual Shoton Festival which will fall on Aug. 26, 2013.
Beside, milk is always processed into a cheese called chhurpi in Tibetan. Butter made of Yak's milk is an ingredient of the butter tea that Tibetans consume in large quantities, and is also used in lamps and made into butter sculptures used in religious festivities.
Barley Wine
Highland barley is the main crop on the Tibetan plateau. Wine made from barley is called barley wine or Chang in Tibetan language.
Barley wine is brewaged by zymolytic highland barley. The barley wine with low degree is popular among Tibetan people, the young and the old, the female and the male. It is a kind of necessary drink at festivals, marriage feats and other important occasions. Before festivals, Tibetan people will brewage plentiful of barley wine.
The barley wine is as well a nice product for entertaining guests. If you travel to Tibet and pay a visit to Tibetan family, you will surely be treated with barley wine.

Saga Dawa Festival Tour, the T Saga Dawa Festival Tour, the Top Tibet Pilgrimage Tour 2013
- From: tibettravel
-
Description:
If you are feeling lost in your life, make a spiritual tour to Tibet and find yourself, find your dream, find your life. A Saga Dawa Festival Tour, the top Tibet Pilgrimage Tour in 2013, is highly recommended.
In my high school, a friend told me that Lhasa was a must-visit place in his life and that it should be his last trip in his life. However, he travelled to Tibet after he was graduated from university for he felt lost in the competition of society. He said it was an amazing tour changing his life. When he saw how the devout Tibetan pilgrims kept faith to their belief no matter how hard it was, he realized that he must keep faith to his dream.
It is best to travel to Tibet during Saga Dawa Festival which is the best time to observe Tibetan pilgrims. The Saga Dawa Festival is the most significant event of the year for Tibetan Buddhists as three of the most essential events in Buddha’s life (birth, enlightenment and passing into Parinirvana) took place on the full moon day of the 4th lunar month in Tibetan calendar.
This month is regarded as the holiest time of the year. It is also known as ‘bum gyur dawa’ in Tibetan, meaning (the month which multiplies by 100000 whatever wholesome or unwholesome action is performed during this month has a 100000 times stronger effect than at other times). Therefore, thousands of Tibetans make a Lhasa tour to do ritual walks and ceremonies during the Saga Dawa Festival.
During the whole month Buddhists have celebrations and pay homage for Buddha Shakyamuni. Most auspicious ceremonies are also held in Holy Mountain Kailash region in Tibet as it’s believed that on Saga Dawa day Buddha Shakyamuni is coming from the heaven to the top of Kailash and people get blessed. People put auspicious huge prayer flag known as Darpo Che performing religious ceremonies.
The Saga Dawa Festival in 2013 will fall on May 25th. Since there is lots of preparation work for a Tibet tour, it is time for you to get started now, applying for Chinese Visa and then Tibet Permits, booking air/train tickets, hotels, etc.
As too many travelers and pilgrims travel to Lhasa during the Saga Dawa Festival, the hotels and air/train tickets are in great demand. In addition, taking Tibet train to Lhasa is a popular way to Tibet. It usually takes two days to Lhasa from mainland China, so soft sleeper berth is at greatest demand. Early booking is highly recommended.
As for the permits, if you just want to make a Lhasa tour, a Tibet entry permit is enough, but if you want to make a Kailash tour, Alien’s travel permit and military permit are also needed except the Tibet entry permit. Actually, it is not necessary to worry about the Tibet permits as the policy on Tibet travel permit 2013 makes it is quite easy for foreigners to get Tibet permits.

The Flagstaff House Museum of The Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware
- From: x123456
-
Description:
In a quiet nook of Hong Kong Park, toward the Admiralty gate, the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware is a curious find. The structure itself is a rarity. The oldest surviving colonial building in the city, built around 1845, served as the official residence of the Commander of British Forces until 1978. Its whitewashed two floors with colonnaded porches, against a wall of lush greenery, make it popular with newlyweds as a photo backdrop.
The permanent collection describes the cultivation of tea, the different brews, how it is processed(immediately dried or fermented first) and the rituals that surrounded serving it both in China and beyond.
Frequently changing exhibitions showcase tea-related paraphernalia, from beautifully glazed cups and pots to drawings and paintings. Tea serving procedure and a history of teatime implements are all covered. The late collector K.S Lo donated a collection of prized Yixing teapots in his will in 1995. These fine ceramic pieces are displayed in their own gallery. Alongside exhibitions, the museum holds regular tea gatherings and lectures to promote Chinese ceramic art and tea-drinking culture in tandem.
In the gift shop you get the chance to buy some of the best-quality pots and tea types you might find in Hong Kong.

Qingdao Qingdao
- From: x123456
-
Description:
The old town of Qingdao is very special, with a lot of European-style architectures there. Almost across each mountain, there are some parks and also some residences of celebrities. If you stay in a hotel in Qingdao, it’s better to choose the one near to the sea because in autumn, there are a lot of beautiful landscapes that you are able to see anytime when walking out of your hotel.
The trestle of Qingdao, located in the south of Zhongshan Road where there are a number of tourists, is built over a gulf for visitors to board the sightseeing ship to cruise on the river. The trestle is as old as some of the buildings in Qingdao. In Qing Dynasty, an imperial envoy Li Hung-Chang came to Qingdao to inspect. During that time, he wanted to take a big ship there, but since Qingdao was a very small village where there was no port, the ship could not be parked. A harbor which was later built for temporarily use and rebuilt for several times is not a port any more now but an art gallery where some of art works are exhibited.
What’s more, the trestle is the symbol of Qingdao which is a must-visit scenic spot. At the end of the trestle is a pavilion which looks really special against the European-style buildings around it, with double eaves of Chinese traditional styles on the roof. The trestle which is situated over the gulf is 440 meters long and 8 meters wide with concrete structures. At the south part of it is a half round jetty. There is an attic with eight corner angles where tourists are able to see layers of waves surging. The attic has bee approved as one of the best scenic spots in Qingdao. On the other hand, the night views around the trestle are much more beautiful in daytime than in nighttime.
The Christian church in Qingdao is a well-known religious building located at Road 15, near to Xinhao Shan Park in the east where there are magnificent landscapes.
The wide and flat square in front of the church looks very magnificent against a forest and all kinds of western-style architectures around it. Stepping onto narrow steps, you will see its strong walls, half round window frames, pitched roofs and bell tower. The Christian church is a typical German-style building composed of a bell tower and an auditorium. The bell tower on which you are able to have a bird view of sea views is 39.10 meters high, with a huge clock on there that makes the solemn church mysterious. On the other hand, the auditorium which is composed of two floors, with delicate decoration of the interior looks very special and accommodates thousands of people at a time.

Zhongzheng Memorial Hall in Ta Zhongzheng Memorial Hall in Taipei China.
- From: x123456
-
Description:
With a vast area of one hundred and fifty six thousand square metres, Zhongzheng Memorial Hall which was constructed between 1912 and 1949 , surrounded by Zhongshan South Road, Aiguo East Road and Xinyi Road is featured with the styles of Chinese classic gardens. It’s painted blue and white, which symbolize freedom and equality.
Surrounded by dense trees and flowers waving in the wind, Zhongzheng Memorial Hall is a very high building around which environment is very good and also there is not much noise. It looks very solemn, with an exhibition room at the ground floor where the cultural relics of Chiang Kai-shek are showed to visitors and on the top floor where there is a bronze statue of his beside which two of guards stand guard and change shifts every two hours. It has become one of the important tourist attractions.
Zhongzheng Memorial Hall is where I visited for the first time in Taipei. It’s quite near to my hotel. It’s only two or three minutes walk. Out of the hotel, I could see its blue dome. The building which looks like Temple of Heaven and also like Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is painted blue and white. We all know that the covering area is broad and it’s so extensive that it’s incredible. The buildings around it are shorter, but we could have a bird's-eye view of landscapes around, standing on those buildings. The main gate is at Freedom Square where there are the National Music Hall and Opera House.
what is interesting is that the square looks a little bit like Wuyi Square in a mainland city. On that day, I run into a group of school students came to visit Freedom Square. As I was ready to take a photo of it, I heard from the distance a cheer from them. They looks a bit younger and are probably at the age between fifteen and seventeen. My tour in Taipei ended with visiting Zhongzheng Memorial Hall and Freedom Square.

Ancient Shanxi Province. Ancient Shanxi Province.
- From: x123456
-
Description:
Most of ancient Chinese architectures are located in Shanxi Province where there are seventy percent of old buildings with simple but elegant styles which were all built in Tang, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Last time, it’s really a meaningful experience of the culture of ancient Chinese buildings. What’s more, Another seventy percent of the buildings are situated in the southeast of Shanxi. It was a nice day in the morning. We went to the our first destination Hongfu Temple by car. It’s said that an old man watched the temple with a few children in Jing Dynasty. Now it’s has been protected by the county as a historical site.
In spring, it’s very dry for less rainfall in Shanxi. The hillside beside the road was desolate. Seeing a little bit further, I found some of green leaves grew on the tree. Our motorcade got off the beltway to an unsurfaced narrow road where our cars bumped for a few minutes, with dust stirred up behind, and beside which are loess slopes.Hongfu Temple is situated in a hidden alley. After three minutes’bumping on the way, a more than ten meters high and very wide loess wall came into our sight. Despite the dilapidated scene, the loess plateau looks very magnificent against our car BMW.
We entered the temple across the steps, where everything looked desolate, with a abandoned hall on the left side and a half-length statue standing on the hall. At the moment when we entered, we saw its paint faded and column inclined to a side. However, the sculptures on the ridge still show the art of the architectures in Jing Dynasty.
On the other hand, we left the temple and went along a meandering road to Taixin County to visit Foguang Temple.
It’s said that Foguang Temple was found many times later after a couple visited Shanxi for the fourth time. Because of that, the temple has occupied an important position in the architectural history of China. It’s the biggest wooden building built in the Tang Dynasty.
As the sun sets and wind blows, we were standing beside a stone engraved perhaps in Tang Dynasty with inscriptions on it and began reading what’s written on it, feeling as if time had gone back to the past. I felt a sense of admiration while reading.

The Great Wall at Badaling, located in the north of Yangqing County in Beijing, is one of the typical and well-preserved scenic areas that were opened to the public earlier.
The topography of Badaling is very precipitous, occupying a commanding position. After some parts of the walls on the Great Wall were rebuilt in 1953, the Great Wall became a scenic area, where there are 3741 meters long areas in total for sightseeing, including 1176 meters of them in the south and 2565 meters in the north, and also there are 16 enemy broadcasting stations. The Great Wall at Badaling was announced as an officially protected historical site in March 1961, as a scenic area in 1982, as the first of ten scenic spots of the nation in 1986, and as world cultural heritage in 1987. During those years from 2000 to 2009, more than 500 country leaders from all around the world visited the Great Wall at Badaling. On the 8th of May in 2007, it was approved as a scenic area with national AAAAA level.
There are some of other scenic spots, besides the Great Wall, like the Golden Fish Pond, Qijingguang Garden, Yuanconghuan Garden and so on.Climbing the Great Wall is a kind of entertainment activity. On the other hand, it’s worth a visit , if you go to the sculpture image museum, where you are able to know a lot of Chinese scholars.
Having got off the bus, I walked for 80 meters further to the entrance of Badaling.after that, I began climbing the Great Wall. Although it’s a little tired, you will feel a kind of sense of achievement when you look down from a higher position at the Great wall. If you like, you may visit the Great Wall at Badaling one day by your self, through our service of China holidays. - Blog post

Yaoli Ancient Town in Jiangxi Yaoli Ancient Town in Jiangxi Province
- From: x123456

Description:
Located in the northeast of the Jingdezhen Ancient Town in Jiangxi Province, Yaoli which is well-known for porcelains is a tourist attraction with national AAAAA level , a national forest park, a famous ancient town, and also a historical and cultural protection site, covering an area of 195 square kilometers. The climate is very pleasant in four seasons in the scenic area where there are more than 94 percent of dense forests, and more than 180 kinds of rare animals and plants, such as maidenhair trees, Chinese torreya trees, leopards, giant salamanders and so on..
In the early morning in winter, it’s very freezing. One day, one idea came across my mind that I would like to experience a primitive life and folk customs by leaving the busy city for a small ancient town in Jiangxi Province. Having lived in the city for a long time, sometimes I just want to leave there for some time and give myself a holiday. In an ancient town in Jiangxi, there are many beautiful landscapes.
Perhaps, few of people know about the ancient town Yaoli, but most of them heard about Jaingnan. If someone wants to find a quiet and beautiful ancient town to visit, actually it’s not difficult so long as you look for it hard. The ancient town Yaoli is the one you may look for.
In my mind, Yaoli is a name full of dreams for me and also a place mysterious I look forwards to visiting.
From what I know about why it’s mysterious, it lies at the fact that the ancient town Yaoli is a very tranquil place with a very long history, where buildings are those built in Ming and Qing Dynasties and also there is a river called Yao River, which is a water source of the town.
For the ancient town, it has a lot of history stories. While walking in the gallery of a building of Ming and Qing Dynasties at the banks of Yao River, I felt a wind was coming to me, with overhanging eaves, ancient walls, black tiles, and mountains around me reflected on the river, as if I had traveled back to the past of thousand years ago.
In the early morning, the sun is shinning on the town. Listening to streams and standing on a single-plank bridge, I was watching women were washing clothes at the river and heard music coming from those ancient houses from time to time. It’s just like an idyllic scene.

Mexico Fun at the Grand Velas! Mexico Fun at the Grand Velas!

Description:
Sometimes we need a little luxury to supplement our budget travel…
I’ve seen the term, “luxury redefined” written in brochures, broadcasted on different websites to describe a wide array of products, services, and accommodations. However, the phrase never crept into my mind before visiting the Grand Velas resort in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. The resort is a true, luxury all-inclusive resort. It stands in a class of its own; where most all-inclusive resorts offer complimentary room service, all-you-can-eat dining options, and bottomless alcoholic beverages, the Grand Velas takes it 10 steps further to create the first-rate service, fine dining, top shelf alcohol, and constant pampering that one would expect from a AAA five-diamond ranked property. The hotel contains one of the “Leading Spas of the World” (Spa Grand Velas Riviera
Nayarit) and the spa experience begins at check-in. I arrived at the resort Thursday evening, and within minutes, was treated to a 5-minute complementary neck massage in the lobby. The suites also contain spa-themed accents, such as plush bathrobes, his and her slippers, luxurious Gilchrest & Soames bath products, in-room Jacuzzi, and a private sauna (located in the presidential suites). According to the manager of the property, Rodolfo Gonzalez, “room service at the resort is referred to as “suite service” because of the vastness of the rooms (the suites are 900-1,000+ square feet and 95% have ocean views).
That evening, I had dinner at one of the hotel’s gourmet restaurants, Frida, named after the Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo. All of the hotel’s restaurants have ocean views, and present unsurpassed luxury, down to the cushioned purse stools. The neutral earth toned décor coupled with the Frida Kahlo recipe inscriptions on the wall offered a very Mediterranean feel. I sampled their six-course meal, some of which included the aguachile duo salmon and sea scallops, fresh tuna in chili seed crust, marinated duck breast in local honey, and the traditional lime pie.
During the trip, I participated in a margarita tasting in the lobby bar, which featured all of the specialty margaritas that Frida offers. Out of the 12 sampled, I favored the Peanuts Signature Margarita, the Cilantro Coriander Margarita, and Tamarind Mint Margarita. After dinner, I overindulged and ordered room service (their 24-hour menu includes prime
selections, such as grilled flanked steak, beef filet in black pepper sauce, mahi-mahi medallion, Hawaiian pizza, and coconut shrimp in mango and mint sauce).
Despite the level of luxury presented throughout the property, the resort is very welcoming towards kids and families. The resort offers activities such as karaoke, guitar band performances, fiestas, and there is also a kids and teen club available. Some of the exciting inclusive activities located at the resort are windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking, cycling, tennis, aqua aerobics, boogie boards, as well as scuba diving demonstrations at the pool. There is also fitness center that offers exercise classes during the weekdays, such as Tae-Bo, Pilates, Hath yoga, Zumba, and Danza Polinesia. In the mornings, I either ordered room service or dined in their beachside restaurant, Azul.
The restaurant offers panoramic views of the Bahia de Banderas, and is open from 7am to 11pm. Cuisines offered are Mexican, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese, as well as grilled selections and seafood.
Friday evening, I dined at the Italian restaurant, Lucca. The interior is inspired by Roman design, and there was a live piano performance during dinner. The six course meal included items such as the Rustic Lucca style salad, poached artichoke carpaccio, tortelli in cherry tomato sauce, and baked zucchini.
The next morning, I experienced my much-anticipated spa treatment at the multiple
award-winning Spa Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. I chose the Four Hand Samunprai Massage, which included two massage therapists using hot compressions, exotic herbs, and medicinal heat to sooth muscles and release tension. The spa’s design was very calming, adorned with flowers floating in water, neutral earth toned décor, and a large marbled wall with cascading water.
Before my massage, I was treated with the complimentary hour long Hydrotherapy Ritual. This started with a revitalizing shower, followed by a visit to the herbal steam room, sauna time, Jacuzzi soak, followed by a dip in the two-temperature lagoon, with a final multi-jet Swiss shower. Currently, the spa is offering a special of purchasing one of their specialty massages, and selecting another massage for only $10.
My last night at the Grand Velas was spent dining at the French cuisine restaurant, Piaf. The décor was tastefully elaborate with breathtaking avant garde chandeliers, coupled with live violin music. Some of the selections from the menu included the tri-color cream soup (pumpkin, tomato, pea), grilled Scottish salmon in Chardonnay sauce, and the chocolate moelleux with English crème figs. My personal favorite was the Bourguignonne escargots, which were expertly prepared in a creamy butter sauce. Besides the opportunity to overindulge in the resorts many premier food selections, the Grand Velas offers the ultimate luxury all-inclusive vacation. Take part in the many complimentary water sports and activities available, experience a massage in one of the Leading Spas of the World, and relax by the serene private beach and pool.
