In the evening, when all of the fishing, boating, and picnicing are done, just spending some quiet time enjoying nature and its beauty are part of the attraction. This is one of those times.

If you are planning a holiday at one of the coolest locations, then you can book your flights to Dubai without giving any second thoughts, staying here for a few days in order to enjoy the charisma of this city is not a bad option. The Mall of Emirates

Dubai no doubt is well known for its startling malls; however, The Mall of Emirates which is also known as home to the indoor ski slope was recently surpassed as the Middle East’s largest mall.

The beaches in Dubai are the best places if you are looking forward to relaxation make yourself comfortable under a palm tree and relax.

This is just one side of Dubai, if you wish to experience the other side of it, then it is advisable for you to visit Batskiya quarter or, some of the great traditional villages that are further out of town.

      Climate:

As Dubai, is a deserted location, it is of no doubts that the climate out here will be hot and sunny which makes it quite roasting. During summers, there’s an 11 hours of sunshine during the day time and the temperature is generally above 37 degrees, at times it even reaches up to 40, such days are known to be the hottest days in Dubai. However, in the evening the temperature drops down to somewhere close to 20 degrees, but you cannot expect the humidity to vanish away, it still exists in the air which makes the atmosphere really uncomfortable. The temperature gets a little milder between December and March, during the day temperature falls in the range from 20s to 30s, in the evening the atmosphere gets a lot cooler as the temperature gets close to the teens. Rainy season in Dubai is really limited; you can expect the rainfall from January to March.

Certain obvious reasons and attractions in Dubai make it a fantastic place for vacations, however, everyone needs to know about the best time to visit Dubai, and after all, nobody wants to spoil the fun of being there.

  • Get your motor running: 5 grea Get your motor running: 5 great motorcycle trips

    • From: Emmsey90
    • Description:

Produced by writer, blogger and journalist Matthew Crist in association with road traffic solicitor Motor Defence Lawyers.

It’s something that most four wheeled motorists may not understand.

But the thrill of riding some of the most bike friendly roads in the world, just you and your “steel horse” for company, is one of the greatest experiences known to man, woman or beast.

If the bypass on the way to work, or an evening jaunt on the expressway, just aren’t doing it for you – here are five of the most spectacular and thrilling routes available for the ultimate thrill seeker.

      Snowdonia National Park

Starting in Shropshire on the border between England and Wales, you will ride north on a route dotted with splendid views and fascinating history. After a slow, twisty start, this route runs through a predominantly rural area with stunning scenery on all sides. On a clear day you’ll glimpse views of the magnificent Mount Snowdon, as well as its surrounding peaks.

The area is dotted with Edward I's still imposing castles, such as Harlech and Caernarfon, the latter of which is a world heritage site. You can even get the Snowdonia Mountain Railway to the top if you’re feeling the strain after the twists and turns of the A5.

      Pacific Coast Highway, USA

This is one of the most famous road trips going and presents beaches, cliffs, redwood forests, sleepy seaside towns and world-class dining along this snaking and undulating road that can provide thrilling sport riding and more relaxed cruising.

As one of the best known routes in the world, expect to see plenty of other riders out there, as well as getting caught behind the usual caravans and mobile homes.

      Ceuta to Marrakesh, North Africa

Bikers on this route venture along an exotic corridor of ancient citadels, bazaars and desert landscapes. After rolling off the ferry at Ceuta, riders travel through the wild Rif Mountains to Fez then climb the, sometimes snow-capped Atlas Mountains, to hit the Sahara at Erfoud.

Meandering west through the Todra Gorge, the route passes palm groves and the imperial city of Marrakesh and all this historic venue has to offer. Bikers attempting to complete the loop would do well to remember it’s another 200 miles back to Ceuta via Casablanca – but well worth the trip.

      Trollstigen, Norway

Trollstigen is a mountain road in Rauma, part of the route connecting Soggeberget and Valldal. It has an incredibly steep incline of 9% and no fewer than eleven hairpin bends, all up a steep mountain side. The road was opened on July 31, 1936, by King Haakon VII after 8 years of construction. The road up is narrow with many sharp hairpins, and although it has been widened in recent years, vehicles over 12.4 metres long are prohibited from driving the road – making it perfect for motorbike riders.

      Umbrailpass, Italy

The Umbrail Pass, on the Swiss-Italian border, connects Santa Maria in Val Müstair with Bormio in the Adda valley. The Passo dell'Umbrail ascent is 13 km in length, which climbs over 1,000 meters. On the Italian side, it connects to the main highway, which connects the Stelvio Pass.

Snow capped mountains. Lush green hills and incredibly clean Alpine air. It’s all here for the rider to take in on this epic journey, with plenty of places to stop and take in the breathtaking scenery. With such a steep climb, look on the Brightside - it’s all downhill once you reach the summit.

After catching a flight to Luang Prabang we spent the first day finding an agent to trek with the following day and in the evening we headed out to the night market to scoff our faces before our trek.

      Trek Luang Prabang

We set off on a bumpy and dusty road in the back of a van with two other men (Tony from Switzerland and Migon from Argintina). We also had two local guides, Nick and Tim. Two hours later we arrived at the start of our adventure! We were told to carry as much water as we could as it had to last us two days as the village we were staying in didn't have any drinking water. We squeezed as much as we could (10 litres between us) into our small rucksacks and headed off across a bridge and up a steep hill. The trek was up hill for the first two and half hours with no shade in the mid day sun!

      Trek Luang Prabang

We had drank quite a lot of our water at this point and decided that we had best start rationing if it was going to last the two days.
      The start...The start...

The start...made our first stop at a Hmong village   consiting of 100 or so people. We visited the school within the village which had lots of children and only one teacher. We bought writing books and pencils at the market the previous day to give to any children we saw whilst trekking, so we donated the majority to the school. We stayed for a while helping the children and listening to them sing songs. Although our time their was short, It was one of the things we enjoyed the most. After that it was back to the trekking and 6 and half hours in total in the blazing sun we arrived at our Kamoot village,, hurray, very thirsty and absolutley knackered!
The village was very poor but the people were really friendly. We were staying with the chief of the village and his family and they made us feel very welcome in their home. We were told each family in the village had roughly eight children, babies everywhere :0). We were then shown to our room (4 of us in a bed) very cosy! We were told that we could rest untill dinner so in desperate need of a clean Local women putting us to shame.Local women putting us to shame.

Local women putting us to shame.we headed to the shower/ pots and pans washing/ animal watering and bathing area. There was a bit of a que for the hose pipe in the middle of the village. But everyone quite happily sat watching the other get naked and have a scrub down. It was eventualy our turn although Julian opted to keep his pants on I decided I didnt smell that bad after all :-)
      Trekking Luang Prabang

We played with the children in the village and then were invite in for dinner, sticky rice and soup. Lots of the kids had gathered around at this point waiting till we finished eating so we could play games and sing songs together. Julian broke into song and statrted with "Old Macdonald" whilst I followed with ''Head shoulders knees and toes'', Julian then went on to show them how to play thumb wars and a hand slapping game, we had a great night.
The following morning we were up at 5am to the sounds of the animals and the men of the village getting ready to hunt or farm in the fields. After an early breakfast we had started the trek by 8am. We walked mainly through jungle.
We'd pretty much ran out of water after another 2 hours of walking but luckily enough we had reached the end of our trek. We had stopped for lunch at the river, where we had a cool off and caught a boat to our pick up point. An hour or so waiting for the bus we were back on the dusty road to our hostel.
      Hope your well,

      Courtyard Los Angeles LAX/Century Boulevard

This hotel is conveniently located right beside Los Angeles International Airport which is both a convenience and a detriment to a good night of sleep. They offer complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle service which leaves every twenty minutes. It is a prestigious location and near Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the South Bay area. Free beverages and snacks at the evening Managers reception events and a very well equipped business center and high speed internet.

      Hilton Los Angeles Airport

If you are looking for luxury and a pet-friendly hotel, consider reserving in the Hilton Los Angeles Airport. It is also known as being one of the better sound proofed hotels in the area. While it’s located very close to the airport, you won’t hear a sound.

      Holiday Inn Express

If you are looking for affordability first, reserve at the Holiday Inn Express. They offer reasonable rooms at very competitive rates and a free 24-hour shuttle service to LAX.

Remember to always book early to ensure you get a room and provide notice for cancellation to avoid fees. Remember if you are looking for cheap LAX parking to check online for reservations and availability.

  • Vacation Itinerary - Puerto R Vacation Itinerary - Puerto Rico

    • From: travowl
    • Description:

      Dear Diary,

The awesomeness that is 'US' :P

EEEEEEEEE!! I am super excited!! Our trip to Puerto Rico gets closer and closer every day. Just three more weeks and I am off to a week of sun, sand and hopefully bikinis (still working on that.) The fact the DJ cooks fucking amazing food doesn’t help me in losing weight in any way. Anyways, this will be an epic trip. We are going snorkeling, scuba-diving, zip lining and to top it off, we are camping out on the beach. Imaging waking up listening to the waves hitting the shores in the morning with the cool wind making whoosh whoosh noises.. Ahhhhh..blisss..Ohh that reminds me..I need to pack my yoga mat. Looking forward to do some beach yoga.

I had to time this trip very precisely. With my PTO of 4 days and a national holiday (Good Friday) this will be a 9 day long trip. Also to maximize our stay there, I booked tickets late evening Friday and late morning Sunday. So here is the itinerary:

Friday 22nd March – Flight out of San Antonio at 7pm and will reach San Juan at 5 am the next morning.

Saturday 23rd March – Land at San Juan and pick up rental car and drive to Luquillo Beach to set up camp. Our goal for this day is to just relax and do some snorkeling. Based on my online research Luquillo Beach is apparently a very good beach to snorkel since the water isn’t too rough.

Sunday 24th March – Visit El Yunque rain forest and Zip line. Explore the forest as much as we can. Take some awesome pics and Zip Line through the trees.

Monday 25th March – Take the ferry from Fajardo to Culebra beach and go scuba diving at Flamenco Beach. The company that comes highly recommended is Culebra Divers. Spend the day scuba diving and at the beach and head back to town to eat lunch at Barbara- Rosa’s. In the evening take ferry back to Fajardo and drive back to Luquillo Beach.

Tuesday 26th March – Pack up camp and leave for Ponce. Spend the day there and drive to Lajas in the afternoon and at night drive and set up camp at Anasco.

Wednesday 27th March – Drive to Cumuy Cave and take the tour and in the afternoon take the trip to Arecibo.

Thursday 28th March – Pack up camp at Anasco and drive back to San Juan. Explore San Juan and check into hotel (Yes, we did take 2 nights hotel since we wanted to wine and dine for the actual day of our anniversary)

FRIDAY 29TH MARCH – ANNIVERSARY DAY!! Spend time together J

Saturday 30th March – Check out of hotel and drive to Fajardo. Explore Fajardo during the day and take the bio bay kayak trip in the evening. Return to San Juan airport at night and drop off the car and take flight back to San Antonio L

Sunday 31st March – Flight back to San Antonio.

Yes, I know I skipped the the mountains in this trip but we still have 3 more weeks to plan this out. Maybe we will squeeze it in somehow, but as of now here is the plan. And with flight, hotel, car and our expenses, this trip shouldn't cross our budget of $3000. Lets see if we can make it :)

      Safe travels!!

  • A trip in Dali A trip in Dali

    • From: x123456
    • Description:

The autonomous prefecture of Dali which is located in Yunnan Province is an undeveloped and extensive territory in the southwestern part of China, with an area of 29459 square meters, abundant natural resources, beautiful landscapes, and mild climate.

It was in March 2011, when I went to Kunming in Yunnan Province to live. One day, all of sudden, one ideal came across my mind that I would like to visit Dali. I didn’t know why I love it more than Lijiang. Maybe that’s because the air there is much more fresh and there are less busyness and noise. What’s more, Dali is famous for its fresh air and mild climate.
In the evening on Friday in March 25th 2011, I took a train to Dali, where I spent a week travelling and I had a lot of fun during the short trip.

It would be better to go to Dali in March if you like, because it often rains from May to October and also a lot of traditional events of Bai ethnic groups are normally held there in March.

Having spent a night on the train, I woke up at dawn in the next morning and arrived at the train station of Dali. I had reserved a less expensive hotel on the Internet after checking out prices. It’s a two-floored hotel where it’s 50 Yuan for a night, there are individual bathrooms, 24 hours’ hot water service and internet access are provided. On the second floor, you are able to overlook ancient towns of Dali.

On the first day, I went to Tianlongbabu Studio City, a scenic area which is situated at a holiday resort of the provincial level. It’s composed of three parts, including the Dali scenic spot where you are able to see Dali Street, Dali Palace, and Zhennan Prince City, Liao scenic spot where there is an ancient gate, and Xixia Palace’s scenic spot. What’s more, you can ask someone to take a picture of you who wear costumes

After that, I visited Zhangjia Garden. It’s a newly-developed scenic spot where facilities and buildings are all brand-new. As a matter of fact, it’s worth a visit.

Having entered Zhangjia Garden, I watched singing and dancing performances a little bit. And a kind of famous tea from Dali can be tasted for free and it’s called Sandao Tea. while you are visiting, it’s easy to get lost in the garden, where courtyards are very delicate and there are all kinds of flowers, most of which are rare. In addition, it’s called the First Garden of Yunnan surrounded by camellia, rhododendron, and lakes.

Last, having visited some scenic spots in Dali, I went back to the Ancient Town of Dali to hang about at the West Street where the streets all look similar and there are many shops.

The trip in Dali ended like that. Although I went to a lot of scenic spots to visit, I didn’t feel any tired.
