  • Monterosso al Mare, Cinque Ter

    • From: allaffordtravel
    • Description:

Monterosso al Mare (Monterosso by the sea) is known as the resort town of the Cinque Terre. It is the only one of the five small villages that you can actually drive all the way to the town. It comes complete with beach umbrellas that are rentable and a very busy and thriving nightlife.

One of the nifty things about Monterosso is that if you are on the beach, you can see each of the towns that make up Cinque Terre. It's especially pretty after dark, when each town is lit up and sparkles like diamonds in the night.

  • Corniglia, Cinque Terre

    • From: allaffordtravel
    • Description:

Corniglia is the third of the five small towns found in Cinque Terre. The Cinque Terre is a national park that offers hiking, fantastic food, and unbelievable views. It is located in the La Spezia part of Liguria, Italy. The five small towns are easily accessible by rail. You can buy a multi-day trail pass that allows freedom of movement between the towns. The seafood is excellent. Believe me, after a day of hiking the many trails, you will be hungry.

  • Casa Mila in Barcelona, EspaƱa

    • From: Olney20866
    • Description:
This is the rooftop of the Casa Mila in Barcelona, España. The Casa Mila, also known as La Pedrera, is one of Gaudi's most interesting buildings. On the roof you have an impressive view of the entire city of Barcelona as well as the Mediterranean Ocean. The chimney tops all look like helmets of some sort; this gave rise to the legend that George Lucas was inspired by La Pedrera when he was filming the Star Wars movies--notice the uncanny resemblance to storm troopers? I took this photo in October of 2008. The light was beautiful, it was around 5 pm in the afternoon and the setting sun was just amazing.
